Located just six miles from uptown, SouthPark is a large residential area complete with neighborhoods ranging from $150,000 to 4 million.  Most of the communizes were built in the 1950’s to 1970’s as a residential suburb of the downtown area.  Anchoring the SouthPark community is the upscale mall itself at the corner of Sharon and Fairview Roads.

In the 1950’s, North Carolina’s former governor Cameron Morrison’s 3000 acre farm began to change into neighborhoods, churches and in the 1970’s, SouthPark Mall.

Medical, shopping, churches, a public library, hotels and lots of restaurants compliment the area’s amenities.  The business community here employees an estimated 40,000 workers in a business district that is one of the largest in the state.  Retail thrives with over 150 stores in the mall plus Phillips Place and Piedmont Row just blocks away.

Residential choices abound.  Condos, town homes, neighborhoods with trees and larger lots, plus some of the city’s highest ranking schools are found here.   Because this is a sought after area, many homes on a given street are either updated inside and out or may even be a recent new construction in the place of old.
