Heading into home stretch for the half marathon.

The weather was gorgeous on a perfect day for a Charlotte marathon today – and thousands turned out for the event.  The streets of the route were lined with supporters for the annual Charlotte Thunder Road Marathon and Half Marathon with temperatures hovering just above 32 degrees for most of the race.

Thanks to all the volunteers, the Charlotte Police and Sheriff’s Departments for another safe and successful race on a picture perfect day.  The race ran through Uptown, into Myers Park and through Dilworth and South End.  The course for the marathon then headed out to NoDa and Plaza Midwood and ending back in Uptown.

Needless to say, I had a great time photographing the Charlotte event today.
